The Falcon

THE ‘FALCON’

Fondly known to our players as representing a hit to the head with a netball during training and/or game at any level. This tradition has been with us since 2005 and although the actual falcon has changed size, shape, colour and breed, it still holds a memory or two for those who are lucky enough to receive it!

Here are the rules for our glorious award:

• If you are hit on the head with a netball during training and/or games unexpectedly it is deemed to be a ‘FALCON’
• Your fellow players and supporters will acknowledge your achievement quite loudly
• A member of the committee will be advised of such an event in full detail
• You will be awarded the FALCON either on the spot or at the next training in front of your peers
• The ‘FALCON OF THE YEAR’ award will be presented at the end of year function.
• You are to remain the holder of the ‘FALCON’ until the next one occurs…it could take weeks!
• The ‘FALCON’ is to be with you at every training, every game and every function/fundraising event
• Losing the ‘FALCON’ is not acceptable and you will face the ‘FALCON’ tribunal if the ‘FALCON’ is lost – pending a full investigation!

Beware - the FALCON is a treasured item of WGC SHARKIES and is pusued heavily by a pink leprechaun disguised as a garden gnome - never let it out of your sight - in

the wrong hands it may turn into a gremlin.

FYI - there have been a number of reported falcons up to round 10 - who has the best won we will soon know!
